LAURA BOERSMA

As a founding partner of Santa Monica-based Steele Films, her award-winning boutique production company, Laura Boersma ensures that all her productions run on time and under budget.

Since her childhood, Laura has worked in theatre, organized events, and volunteered in her community. After graduating from Loyola Marymount University with honors, Laura put those skills to use forming Steele Films with her partner, director John Stewart Muller. Since then, Laura has produced a wide variety of live action and animated commercials in addition to many other film productions, from features to web series to industrials to documentaries.

Her feature film, Fling starring Brandon Routh (Superman/Clark Kent of Superman Returns), enjoyed a limited theatrical release and is now available on DVD. It also airs regularly on Showtime and TMC.

Besides her work at Steele Films, she has produced a variety of independent projects and worked closely with many other production companies. She produced Prom Queen, the groundbreaking web series from Michael Eisner’s Vuguru. When not producing, Laura is a prolific screenwriter and a contributing writer to Moviemaker magazine. She is also an active member of Women in Film, The National Association For Female Executives, and Film Independent of Los Angeles.
